On Saturday 9 June events took place around the globe in celebration of 70 years of Porsche, with sportscar drivers, enthusiasts and fans meeting to celebrate Porsche's 70th birthday.
Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield joined with four other Porsche Centres from around the country to celebrate Sports Car Together Day at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. Each of the Porsche Centres organised a parade of over 70 Porsche cars from across the seven decades, to travel in convoy from their Centre to the castle grounds. On arrival, the cars then took part in a parade lap around the grounds before parking in the Porsche Village, creating a fantastic display of over 400 Porsche cars.
The event was attended by more than 5,000 people and featured a Summer German Market with various food and drink suppliers, a children’s fun zone including an inflatable helter skelter, as well as a Concours d’Elegance competition where each Centre submitted one car to be judged.
Jodi Macdonald, Centre Principal at Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield, commented: "With a full weekend of celebrations, the Sportscar Together Day at Cholmondeley Castle brought everyone together to celebrate the momentous Porsche 70th anniversary. The build-up from the morning parade registrations right through to the lap parade was electric! We have been inundated with positive feedback from our customers, staff and Porsche enthusiasts and this is what continues to fuel our passion to represent such a prestigious brand."
*Data determined in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) as required by law. You can find more information on WLTP at www.porsche.com/wltp . For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.
Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
